First Holy Communion

The Eucharist is the Sacrament which brings our Christian Initiation to its fulfillment and it is the ‘source and summit’ of our lives as Catholics. And so, each time we celebrate Holy Communion we re-affirm our faith, professed at Baptism and Confirmation, and we give thanks for God’s great love.

First Holy Communion is celebrated after the completion of both Confirmation and Reconciliation, usually in Year 4, or at least when a children is eight years or older.

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion completes a person's journey into full communion with the Catholic Church and is the high point of our faith.​
