A beautiful weekend of Christmas celebrations began with the decoration of Holy Spirit Church by our dedicated volunteers, Eric & Robyn. They are always spending hours to make our main mass centre look stunning for our events, and the beginning of the Fourth Week of Advent was no different.

We were also fortunate to have a wider group of volunteers attend our Saturday morning working bee. Our faithful parishioners cleaned Holy Spirit Church and prepared the surrounding gardens for the arrival of Christ into our hearts and our community.
On Saturday evening at the 5pm Vigil Mass, we were honoured to present a belated Papal Blessing to long serving volunteers, Jim & Yvonne Morrison. These two dedicated pillars of our community were thanked for their consistent, decades long service to the Holy Cross community across many ministries. Whether it’s the garden team, the altar society, or the Community Dinners, Jim & Yvonne are always there. We pray for them in recognition of their discipleship.

After our beautiful mass service, we held a Christmas Carols evening in Holy Spirit Church where magnificent songs were shared amongst the congregation in various lanaguages. We are very blessed to have talented musicians at Holy Cross Parish, and those parishioners always willing to put up their hand to bring joy and a sense of connectedness to others. Thank you to Owen & Paul for running our program, and to everyone who attended.

As the time of Advent draws to a close, this weekend emboldened the sense of anticipation within our hearts. We were able to join together and reflect on the weeks of love, joy, hope, and peace.
Jesus Christ, our Lord, bless our parish and those within it who await your Coming. May we remain faithful disciples who can grow in strength together to bring the Good News to all.
