As a reminder to our community, the time of Lent begins next Wednesday. Being mindful of this, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are traditionally days of fasting and abstinence.

Lent is a penitential season of prayer, self-denial and helping others. In this way, the whole Church prepares for Easter with those who are to be baptised. Our celebrations during Lent must take into account the spirit of penance; our musicians will be using their instruments only to sustain singing, and our Church floral decorations are kept very simple.
Catholics are obliged to receive Holy Communion at least once a year between Ash Wednesday and Trinity Sunday. On Wednesday, masses will be held in Holy Spirit Church at 9:30am and 7:00pm.
