Mother's Day

In the Narthex this weekend there will be prayer candles available for new mothers, 

for new children, and for those who have recently lost their mothers. 

We would like these parishioners to take a candle in remembering that God is with us, and to offer thanksgiving for mothers and motherhood.

A special thank you to all our volunteer ladies for organising this.

Mother's Day Poem

There is a love which stands the test of time

A bond which age & distance cannot destroy

It is not bound by colour, creed or class

It is a love of tenderness and joy.

It is defined by faith and mutual trust

It is annealed by sacrifice and pain

It is enriched by living skills passed down

This steadfast bond for ever will remain.

It will outlive the changes of this world,

As values fade and old gives way to new

It will remain a constant in our lives

It is our guide, support, our friendship true.

And women of this world will have no doubt

This love is different and is not mild

A previous gift to give and to receive,

The love shared by a mother and her child.
