The Power of Prayer

My name is Tracy Scarf, and if that name is familiar it is because I am a relative of Michael and Liz Scarf.
Two years ago I had the privilege, from Canada where I live, of being listed in your prayer intentions. I was diagnosed with stage four melanoma with several brain tumours and multiple lung tumours and given, without treatment, 4 to 6 months to live. Immediately people like you began praying.
I cannot tell you how encouraging it was at the time, especially when I would wake up in the middle of the night, knowing that people in Australia were praying. People like you believed and lifted me up, even not knowing who I am, but just by reading my name and asking God for my healing. I am very grateful to have been able to come and thank you in person and meet some of you last week.
The fervent prayer of righteous people is strong and effective (James 5:16) and thanks to your prayers my body has been clear of cancer for over a year and a half.
I came to Australia to visit family and friends and to visit churches who were praying for me in person; I have been dreaming about doing that for nearly 2 years!
I hope to encourage that as you read the bulletin and see the names of people asking for prayer, remember that every prayer lifted up to God in faith has power, and those of us on the receiving end can’t thank you enough for being prayed for.
Your sister in Christ,
Tracy Scarf
